🌙 How to Use Sleep Music Effectively

🔊

Keep volume at 60–65 dB

About the level of a quiet conversation. Loud enough to mask noise, soft enough to be safe for little ears.

🔁

Use the same song every night

Repetition is the point. After a week, the song itself becomes a sleep cue — your child's brain learns "this sound = sleep time."

📱

Set a sleep timer

30–60 minutes is usually enough. YouTube allows a sleep timer in settings. Alternatively, a Bluetooth speaker with a built-in timer works great.

🏠

HDB tip: white noise first

If you live in an HDB flat, white noise or rain sounds work well to mask corridor sounds and lift voices before switching to lullabies at the 20-min mark.

🌡️

Room at 24–26°C

Singapore heat is a sleep disruptor. Set the aircon to 24–26°C and dress your child in light breathable cotton for best results.

📵

Phone screen-side down

Play the audio but keep the screen off or face-down. Blue light from a playing YouTube video can work against the music's calming effect.
